SMS- USEFUL IRRITANT...............

Hello everyone!!!!  

I am back with a new topic and the subject of this came out when I was chatting with my friend  Gauri and we said the amount of sms that come our way at times amuses us and at times irritates us. Thats where the topic idea came in.  Thanks Gauri..

So what does sms mean? I am sure everyone knows that, right.

SMS means "Short Message Service"

Essential in everyday life to communicate when you are busy or you want to know something or for anything in particular but what should one do when you are bombarded by random smses.

Below are some examples which  we  get daily:

1. To buy unique health insurance plan on phone that reimburses yr doctor fees, hospital charges & gives tax benefit sms to ...

2. 10 on 10 Spa & Salon announces Cent % Discount Spl. Inaugural offer valid till 31st Aug 11 For appointment contact ...

3. For fractures, Arthritis, joint replace physiotherapy & Stem cell transplantation call .... ...

4. Health checkup @ yr Home inc. Diabetes, Liver, Cholesterol, Thyroid, Kidney. Iron, HbA1c total of 63 tests sms to ...

5. Are u still  on cable tv? Watch the difference on airtel digital tv free installation 1M free home delivery call ...

6  R U looking for job with Growth Opportunities and Better Salary? Register yr CV on ------ for Quick Job Offers ! ...

7. You have won $ 500,000, Kindly send your contact details..................

(some of the  sms like this should be ignored as they  are fake who ask for your account number etc.)

Baahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!  

Just when you are busy to do your own work and bamm the above typical marketing sms comes beep beep buzz buzz or whatever tone you have set.  Even after DO NOT DISTURB registration they still pop up and we are left fuming and last option delete..

But on other side the smses are useful if there is some problem or something  you want to convey the sms works best. Particular in emergencies when network is low the sms does reach the person. Now a days  there are sites where one can send smses for free across the country.

Free SMS are like a boon to the people who are tired of looking at hefty mobile phone bills or spending hundreds of rupees to recharge their phones with various schemes. Now just switch on your PCs and log on to the site to send free SMS and with no single penny spent by you. Mobile operators charge a lot  to let you send free SMS and that to with certain limits like number of SMS and with validity.

At times SMS serves huge purpose in keeping the communication open and its discreet also.Fast and effective way to keep in touch with your family or friends. You can win contests also at times when you send in your answers through SMS.

Well, I guess we do have two sides of same coin. No wonder its such a useful irritant..... the SMS  service.

saga of having a housemaid...

Hello everyone! 

From where do  I begin? I am sure most households face the problem of having or not having a helper in the house who would do dishes and do sweeping, mopping and washing clothes etc.

Years back  I hired a maid to do dishes plus  cleaning but  I soon found out  I am left at mercy of maid who would pick her own convenient time to come and disturb our afternoon nap times.  


A quick sweep of floor, a quick wash on the plates and she is done leaving me to do it again. I said to myself thats it, I am not paying this maid for nothing and I fired her promptly for not coming on time and taking many leaves,. I thought I would do it myself as most of my friends don't have domestic help and they manage it very well.
Ha soon  I was doing more of  oohs and aahs  as my back and legs were hurting. Lazy me got dependent on maid to do  cleaning. I got a new maid and she has been with me for years and still dependency on maid and all their mood swings have to tolerate.  and yet  I kept her as the speed with which she washes dishes and does sweeping and mopping in flat  10mins.  Must be  a record eh!

And one fine day my maid vanishes without trace... aha  I wish  I had some magical power to find where she vanished and  I was left to do the chores again which I had lost the habit of doing.. tried over and over again to get new maid but zilch.. no one would come as they had other houses to do and I was thinking how do my friends manage without maids. Back to square one for me to do dishes  and mop and sweep and all that..Ha  I am not that young any more and there were more ouchs than  I had before..

As suddenly as my maid had vanished, she came back one fine day again after more than a month telling she had to go to village suddenly and could not inform me. I was happy to  get her back and yet again tolerate the timings the tantrums and the pay rise etc.

If you have a maid, then also problem and if you don't then also problem. I would not be writing this if  I had suddenly not missed my maid who had vanished without trace. Some generations before me had worked well without a maid but with changing times demand and dependency on maid rises.

Ha  I wish I had that Irona from RICHIE RICH  haha hahahha...

Harry Potter journey ( finale part)

Hello everyone!!!

Today is finale part of the epic world of Harry Potter. The final movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 has just released and I think not all have read all the books or seen the movie yet. This post I would keep it brief.

As mentioned in my previous posts  HERE & HERE  the battle begins to destroy evil Lord Voldemort.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final of the Harry Potter novels  In the sixth book Half blood Prince, Harry learns that Voldemort has been using "horcruxes" to become immortal. When returning from a mission to discover a horcrux, Dumbledore is murdered by Snape, a former Death Eater whom Harry suspected of secretly remaining loyal to Voldemort. At the conclusion of the book, Harry decides to find and destroy Voldemort's remaining horcruxes to defeat the wizard.

 Following Dumbledore's death, Voldemort quickly rises to power and gains control of ministry of magic. Harry, Ron and Hermoine leave Hogwarts  to search for Horcruxes and destroy them so Voldemort becomes a mere mortal and can be destroyed.

What follows is adventure, capture, destruction and battle where the fight of good over evil  happens. I will not reveal what happens in the end as that is for you all to see.  Throughout the series, clues are given for the finale battle.As  I wrote out this part  I managed to see final movie and it was spectacular. Though not all scenes are as per book but nevertheless entire cast stands out for wonderful performance to an epic finale.

The journey to Potter magic ends which depicted   hope, love, friendship, bravery and more. 

Though the series is over for now but for Potter lovers the magic still continues. 

At times I wonder what if we could learn all those magic spells.
