Today I am sad. My childhood hero, an actor who I liked since the age of 12 yrs passed away after prolonged illness. Yes I am talking about none other than Superstar Rajesh Khanna. 12yrs is hardly an age to understand love and romance but for me it was some magic which drew my attention on this star. Ever since the news of his illness and death came in, my mind just stopped working and kept hoping for miracle for him but life is such that those who come would go some day. As he said these lines in film Anand.. "Zindagi aur maut uparwale ke haath mein hai Jahanpanah.... Hum sab toh is rangmanch ki kathputliyan hain jinki dor uparwale ke haath mein hai. Kab, kaun, kaise utthega, yeh koi nahin jaan sakta...". so true as we don't know who goes when.
I recall going to one of his concerts years back with my husband. Though Rajesh Khanna came on stage for few mins only and that was enough to make me crazy. My eyes were only for him and that made me happy. Wish I had chance to go up and talk to him personally but that never happened. Kishore Kumar voice suited him perfectly and together both of them created magic on screen with super music and songs.
As one of my friend said some days back, we lost the voice first and now we lost the face. Rajesh Khanna had style which just drove people mad. I am not going to write about rise and fall of a super star as enough of it has been said.
Rajesh Khanna is gone but I can never forget him. His famous dialogue "Pushpa, I hate tears re" made everyone cry when he died. It broke my heart to see him this way. When I saw his one and only ad of Havells fan I was shocked to see a frail man on screen. Aapke fans aapse koi nahi chheen sakta. Rajesh Khanna. And I would like to always remember this smiling face who I grew up liking, admiring and silently loving. Farewell our hero............:(

I leave this post now with the song I loved a lot from movie Andaz(1971). zindagi ek safar suhana, yahan kal kya ho kisne jaana
When this news was flashing on screen , I felt a sharp pain in my heart. The Super hero of 60 era passed away in silence :-( Sad...
ReplyDeleteIndeed a very very sad news..
ReplyDeleteRajesh Khanna was the only one who got the title of Super Phenomenon..He was a trend setter..started the fashion of Guru Collar, wearing Kurta on jeans, wearing belt on top of the shirt..etc etc..
He was the heart throb of many girls who wrote letters to him with their blood..I don't think any other hero has got so much popularity in the history of Bollywood.
R.I.P. Rajesh Khanns.. you will always be remembered.
RAJESH KHANNA the first super star passed away is the news thts flashing in the entire news channel.
ReplyDeleteIt was abt 2n half decade after HE being a superstar that I got to knw abt the films, n heros /heroines n some more years to knw tht hw ppl go crazy fr thm. So I never knew that Rajesh Khanna was super star who had created such great magic on and off screen. After watching His movies, for me he was a great actor. Which we hv lost.
I will remember HIM, thru his greart work in films, famous dialogue, emotional songs, and ya as face to equally great voice of KISHORE KUMAR.
Can’t mention all dialogues, sm songs that just click my mind “Zindagi kasi hey paheli hai, Chinagari koi bhadke, roop tera mastana, the famous one Mere sapno ki raani n many many more, the songs that will always keep HIM alive in our hearts.
Just last month I hd tour Mubmai, in a tour bus with my cousion sis n our bus passed his bunglow, there were media people waitng outside his bunglow, our bus haulted fr few sec, bt our luck wasn’t tht gud HE didn’t came out n we had to move.
Today the media is following every ceremiones tht r formed for HIM bt the way they r revealing his relation with other costars is unfair. I wish tht HE should be remembered has a great ACTOR a SUPRERSTAR, N if HE was proudy star HE had all the reason to be. Bt has one of his song say “Kuch toh log kahe ge, logo ka kaam hai kehan”.
OOpps!!!!!! Another big comment, well HE desevers this much from me naaaaaa.
RIP Kakaji..!

Aww Meena, I know how fond you were of him. May he rest in peace always and in the knowledge that in the hearts of fans like you, he will live forever. Take care dear :)
ReplyDeleteIt is sad news for all of us Meena, RIP Rajeshji.
ReplyDeleteHe really was THE superstar and not just the first one. For 20 years he was hardly there. He was like a forgotten person. But the crowd he pulled even after leaving, that tells the story.
ReplyDeleteKishore-RDBurman-Rajesh Khanna, the trio gave us few best musical hits. And today all three gone.
As I have told you, I too had a crush on him, when I was in my teens. For years he was my super hero, my dream man.
ReplyDeleteMay his soul rest in peace.
Meena ji...touching post. Even I was shocked when I heard the news of Rajesh Khanna's sudden demise. Just couldn't believe it. Anyways, he will be there in our hearts forever..RIP !
