So we continue our magical journey with Harry Potter and see what happens in next three books.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ( Book 4)

The story follows Harry Potter's fourth year at Hogwarts as he is chosen by the Goblet of Fire to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, a highly dangerous competition. From this book onwards the story goes darker and darker with murders.

Story begins fifty years before where Riddle family was found murdered and no  one knew the cause of the death but suspicions fell on their gardener Frank Bryce. Years later Bryce has remained as caretaker of Riddle house where one night he hears noises and decides to investigate where he finds Peter Pettigrew and a thing in chair which was Lord Voldemort and he orders Peter to kill  Bryce as he had overheard them but did not understand a single word. Miles away Harry suddenly wakes up with throbbing pain in his lightening shaped scar. He has seen the whole thing and thought how could  Voldemort be there as he was without body as his powers had been destroyed by rebounding curse.

 The school has new defence against dark teacher  Mad eye Moody who shows the students three unforgivable curses use of which is prohibited by Ministry of magic, Imperius, Cruciatus, and Avada Kedavra (the curse that killed Harry's parents).

Hogwarts is hosting  Triwizard tournament where three schools participate and one champion from each school is selected through magical process of The Goblet of Fire.Harry has been chosen as fourth champion under mysterious circumstances and throughout tournament he succeeds in all the tasks and the final task he has to touch the triwizard cup along with another Hogwarts champion Cedric Diggory. But the cup was portkey( a process that involves using a piece of trash as a touchstone for going across space.)

Portkey takes them to a graveyard where  by  magical process involving three things, Lord Voldemort returns to full body form and stronger. A duel starts but Harry manages to escape yet again from clutches of Voldemort and inform Dumbledore who knows a lot about Voldemort than anyone and how he can be defeated.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Book 5)

The story begins with Harry spending dreadful summer at his only relatives Dursleys. Harry and his cousin Dudley  face unexpected attack from evil Dementors (guards of wizard prison azkaban) and Harry being underage had to use magic to save himself and Dudley. He faces prompt inquiry and is immediately whisked off by some wizards to  12, Grimmauld place  house of Harry's Godfather Sirius Black and is headquarters of Order of phoenix.The Order is a group of witches and wizards, led by Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, dedicated to fighting the evil Lord Voldemort and his followers. The Order is forced to operate in secrecy.

Harry returns to Hogwarts and learns about new defence against arts teacher  Doloris Umbridge who refuses to teach students how to defend themselves from dark forces In desperation, Harry, Hermione, and Ron form their own Defense Against the Dark Arts group, also known as the D.A., or Dumbledore's Army, Umbridge detests Harry thinking he is lying about Voldemort's return and eventually bans him from the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Ron's twin brothers, Fred and George, storm out of Hogwarts in protest, moving to London where they plan to open a joke shop in the wizarding town of Diagon Alley using the money Harry won last year in the Triwizard Tournament.

There is fight at Ministry of magic where Harry's god father Sirius Black is killed by deatheater Bellatrix Lestrange  but before that Harry finds out why Voldemort tried to kill Harry when he was just one year old.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Book 6)

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth and penultimate novel in the Harry Potter series by British author J. K. Rowling. Set during  Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts, where Harry learns past of Lord Voldemort and prepares for final battle where Dumbledore guides him.

 Lord Voldemort has returned to power, and his wrath has been felt in both the Muggle and Wizarding worlds. Severus Snape, long considered an enemy of Voldemort and a member of Dumbledore's anti-Voldemort coalition, the Order of the Phoenix, meets with Narcissa Malfoy, mother of Harry's school rival Draco and wife of Lucius, an imprisoned Death Eater. Snape makes an Unbreakable Vow to Narcissa, promising to protect Draco.

During sixth year at Hogwarts, Dumbledore pursued his old friend Horace Slughorn to return to Hogwarts as potions teacher which till now Snape was handling while Snape who had been eyeing Defence against Dark arts post finally gets it.

Harry finds a used Potions textbook that once belonged to someone named "The Half-Blood Prince", which is heavily scribbled and helps Harry excel in Potions. Believing that Harry needs to learn Voldemort's past to gain advantage in the coming fight, Dumbledore schedules regular meetings with Harry in which they use Dumbledore's Pensieve to look at memories of those who have had direct contact with Voldemort. Harry learns about Voldemort's family and the influences that corrupted Voldemort, eventually leading him into dividing his soul into seven Horcruxes. Two of these, young Voldemort's diary and his grandfather's ring, have already been destroyed. Of the remaining, one resides in Voldemort, one resides in Voldemort's snake, one is Slytherin's locket, and the other two are suspected to be hidden in objects belonging to Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw.

Dumbledore and Harry leave Hogwarts to find and destroy the locket which is hidden in a cave, and when they return to Hogwarts Dumbledore freezes Harry with his magic spell and Draco Malfoy disarms Dumbledore,  Snape comes there and kills Dumbledore  and flees. Harry's spell is broken by Dumbledore's death and he runs after Snape who reveals he is Half blood prince and escapes from there.

Harry Potter journey part1

Hello world!

Today's topic is Magic. yes  it's all about  the Magic of  Harry Potter.

This week the final movie of the entire Potter saga released and  I have yet to see the movie though I have read all the books. J.K. Rowling  just created  a magic with her writing and whole lot of generations started reading the books.

I can not remember when  I started reading the book but  soon got engrossed and addicted to the magic  found it hard to wait for next book to come out to see what happens next.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer 's Stone is the first novel in the Harry Potter series written by J. K. Rowling and featuring Harry Potter, a young wizard. It describes how Harry discovers he is a wizard, makes close friends and a few enemies at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and with the help of his friends thwarts an attempted comeback by the evil wizard Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents when Harry was one year old.

 At the start of novel we are introduced to Dursley family consisting of Vernon and Petunia Dursley along with their  bully son Dudley. They are muggles (non magical) family and  they are shown hiding Harry's real background from him. Harry's mom Lily was  Petunia's sister and James was Harry's father. They were very good wizards but were hunted down by Lord Voldemort whose real reason comes much later in the end.

On Harry's 11th birthday a giant man named Rubeus Hagrid hands him a letter telling him that he has been accepted as a student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry learns that his parents were wizards and were killed by an evil wizard Voldemort, a truth that was hidden from him all these years.The attack on Harry left him with lightening bolt scar on his forehead while Voldemort looses his powers. At Hogwarts he embarks for his new life as a student, gathering two good friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger along the way. They soon learn that something very valuable is hidden somewhere inside the school and Voldemort is very anxious to lay his hands on it.

Along with learning various magic  the trio  through various challenges thwarts attempt by Voldemort to get  the philosophers stone which would make him immortal.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second novel in the Harry Potter series written by J. K. Rowling. The plot follows Harry's second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, during which a series of messages on the walls on the school's corridors warn that the "Chamber of Secrets" has been opened and that the "heir of Slytherin" will kill all pupils who do not come from all-magical families. These threats are followed by attacks which leave residents of the school "petrified" (that is, frozen). Throughout the year, Harry and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger investigate the attacks, and Harry is confronted by Lord Voldemort, who is attempting to regain full power.

Soon after the start of Harry's second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, messages on the walls of the corridors say that the Chamber of Secrets has been re-opened and that the "Heir of Slytherin" would kill all pupils whose parents are not both magical – which includes Hermione. Over the next few months, various inhabitants of the school are found petrified in corridors. Meanwhile, Harry, Ron, and Hermione discover Moaning Myrtle, the ghost of a girl who was killed the last time the Chamber was opened and now haunts the girls' toilet in which she died. Myrtle shows Harry a diary bearing the name Tom Marvolo Riddle. Although its pages are blank, it responds when Harry writes in it. Eventually the book shows him Hogwarts as it was fifty years ago. There he sees Tom Riddle, Head Boy at the time, blame Rubeus Hagrid, who was then thirteen years old and already kept dangerous creatures as pets, for opening the Chamber.

Four months later the diary is stolen, and shortly afterward Hermione is petrified. However, she holds a note explaining that the culprit is a basilisk, a huge serpent whose gaze kills those who look into its eyes directly but only petrifies those who see their reflection. Hermione concluded that the monster travels through the school's pipes and emerges through the toilet Myrtle haunts.


Harry enters the Chamber of Secrets, where Ginny lies beside the diary. As he examines her, Tom Riddle appears, looking exactly as he did fifty years ago, and explains that he is a memory stored in the diary. Ginny wrote in it about her adolescent hopes and fears, and Riddle won her confidence by appearing sympathetic, possessed her, and used her to open the Chamber. Riddle also reveals that he is Voldemort as a boy.

Riddle then releases the basilisk to kill Harry. Dumbledore's pet phoenix, Fawkes, brings a magnificent sword wrapped in the Sorting Hat. Harry uses the sword to kill the basilisk, but only after being bitten by the creature's venomous fangs, one of which breaks off. As Riddle gloats over the dying Harry, Fawkes weeps on Harry's wound to cure it. Harry stabs the diary with the broken fang, and Riddle vanishes.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the third novel in the Harry Potter series written by J. K. Rowling.

Harry and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and find security has been tightened because of notorious mass murderer Sirius Black's escape from Azkaban, the wizarding prison. Harry learns that Black betrayed Harry's parents to the evil Lord Voldemort 11 years ago, leading to their deaths. Black is also known to have murdered the Potters' good friend, Peter Pettigrew.

Here Harry discovers the truth who had betrayed his parents to Voldemort and that Sirius Black,Peter Pettigrew  and his own father James were animagus who can turn into animal at will. Remus Lupin was the defence against dark teacher and a friend of James, Sirius and Peter but he was werewolf too. At the end when Peter is captured and taken to Hogwarts Castle  Lupin turned into werewolf and Peter turns into rat and escapes. The dementors (guards of azakaban) attack Sirius and Harry but a patronus charm saves them. Later Harry and Hermoine with help of timeturner device save  Sirius who had told the real truth and he was Harry's god father.
