Last weekend , I was surprised to see a mail from Meena – Random Ramblings. She invited me for a guest post. How can I say “NO”….. I happily accepted and replied back. About Meena, She is a wonderful blogger and her blog has good collection of different vegetarian Recipes. Many of the recipes are unique. Her space is not only for cooking, it also has some interesting facts. I really loved her article – 5 Best Online Watermarking Tools , Do visit her space and explore…
Now, a small intro about me..
I am Poornima, Currently living in Singapore. I am a software engineer and now a happy home maker and mother of a 2 yr old little prince – Kavin. I love my Mom’s cooking and her innovative recipes and I love tasting variety food and that is how I developed my passion towards cooking. I love pencil shading, Reading history, Collecting key chains..
I love to try recipes with left overs . I had Tofu and left out bread in my Refrigerator. So, thought of making this recipe combining Tofu and Bread. It can be made quickly and it is a good healthier snack for serving unexpected guests as well. My kid loved this a lot and I think this is good enough to share..
Cooking time : 10 mins
Serves : 12 pieces
INGREDIENTS:
- Tofu : 150 gms
- Bread : 2
- Curd : 2 tsp
- Onion : 1 –medium sized
- Green Chillies : 4
- Coriander Leaves : As Required
- Gram Masala : ½ tsp
- Corn Flour : 1 tbsp
- Salt : To Taste
- Oil : To fry
STEPS:
- Finely chop Onion and Green Chillies. Cut the sides of the bread and Apply 1 tsp of curd on each bread and let it marinate for 5 mins.
- In a bowl, Add bread, Tofu, Onion, Green Chillies, Coriander Leaves, Garam Masala, Corn Flour, Salt and mix well to form a dough.
- In a pan, heat oil and make round balls from the dough and deep fry in low flame. Fry only in low flame, else only the outer part will be fried and the inside part will not.
- Serve hot with tea/coffee.
Tips:
- Don’t add more curd, else the dough will be bit watery and you may need to add more cornflour Adding more corn flour will give different taste.
- Fry only in low fame.
- Instead of Tofu, you can add Paneer, Vegetables like carrot, peas, cabbage as well.
- The dough can be stored in Refrigerator and can be used for the next 2 days.
- You can prepare the common dough excluding Tofu as explained in steps 1 and 2 and store in Refrigerator. You can try different version every day with Paneer, Tofu, Vegetables etc..
