Cheese butter paneer masala..

Hello everyone! I am sure you  must be thinking whats with the title. Cheese, butter and paneer!! Well, I think once a while we can indulge in such heavy yummy dishes isn't it? I have seen many versions of this delightful dish but I just made minor changes to it.  Hope you like this one. Let's start.

http://chattersmusings.blogspot.com/

Ingredients:
1 cup paneer
1 cup  tomato puree
 2 onions
1/4 cup almonds ( you can use cashews instead)
1 tsp jeera
1 inch cinnamon stick
2-3 cloves
1tbsp ginger garlic paste
2 green chillies
1 dry red chilli
1tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1tbsp kasuri methi
3-4 tbsp butter
1tbsp oil
2tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
4-  5 tbsp curd
1tbsp poppy seeds/khus khus
1 tsp corn flour
2-3 tbsp cheese grated

Method:
In a mixer add roughly chopped onions, chopped green and red chilli, almonds, ginger garlic paste, cloves, cinnamon stick, curd, cornflour and khuskhus. Grind all this to smooth paste adding water if necessary. It should have paste like consistency.

In a pan heat butter with oil. Add jeera and saute it for a minute. Add the paste which we made earlier and saute it till it leaves sides. Add the dry masala and add the tomato puree to it.Stir and adjust the consistency. Let it come to boil for few mins. In the mean time chop the paneer into cubes. I like the paneer as it is so I didnt fry them. Add paneer pieces and gently fold in taking care not to break paneer pieces. Add kasuri methi and switch off the gas.
While serving add grated cheese on top and if you want you can garnish with coriander leaves.  Serve with  roti poori or naan

It looked and tasted just like restaurant style plus I could use almonds instead of cashews to get thickness to the gravy. Don't you think it looks yummy.. Do try it and I would love to hear what you have to say..
